Fishing Report - Capt. Tony Bushway
Just like clock work the transition has arrived on the inland seas as expected. I was out today in search mode not fishing but searching and marking fishing areas in the gps. I was looking for temperature as well as bait. Water temps averaged 52 degree's all over the inland sea. the bays were looking at 54 - 56 degree's. The next week or so could be challenging. In the early morning fish could be in skinny water and then move deeper. I would try skinny water 6-8 feet at first light. Give it an hour or so then head out to deeper water with riggers. Look for bait and send your offerings down. I have caught fish as deep as 40 feet this time of year. Also if you can run a couple on top as well. As I said the fish can be anywhere. Still go with a slow troll. Up to 2.2. Needlfish are best at this speed The Lazy lakers are heading deeper now. We do not target them because of there poor sporting quality as well as poor table fare. The walleye reports from the river have been reporting slow fishing. looks like the walleye may already be dropping out of the river. There are decent reports of bass and pike being caught in the shallows. Overall the fishing season has been fantastic. Also looks like we will have a great season fishing to come. I still have open dates for the 2008 season. Thank You all for your support, and I hope to see you all again soon.
